DENSO CORPORATION and CEA contributed to APO’s study mission “Multi-country Observational Study Mission on Principles and Best Practices of the Sufficiency-based Circular Economy”.

The Asian Productivity Organization (APO)’s study mission, “Multi-country Observational Study Mission on Principles and Best Practices of the Sufficiency-based Circular Economy”, was held at a conference hall within Tokyo Haneda International Airport from December 10 to 12, 2025. During the afternoon session on December 12, Mr. Masashi Kiyono, Senior Director of DENSO CORPORATION, and Kotaro Shimizu, Director of Circular Economy Association (CEA), gave lectures on the stage. Participants in the study mission included officials from governmental and public institutions from 15 countries across Southeast Asia, South Asia, Central Asia, East Asia, and other Asian regions. Our lectures covered trends in international standardization in the field of the circular economy, approaches to implementing circular economy business models crystallized in CEA, and best practices of circular economy business for automotive parts. These topics were consistent with discussions held within the “Automotive Parts Value Network Committee” established in CEA. Using DENSO CORPORATION’s automotive parts as a case study, the session provided an opportunity to explore the potential for developing circular economy businesses in Asian countries.
