Circular Economy Association has joined Circular Partners led by METI

Circular Economy Association (CEA) has joined Circular Partners (CPs), a government-industry-academia partnership led by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI).

To achieve a circular economy, it is challenging to pursue economic rationality through the efforts of individual companies.  As it is necessary to ensure the participation of relevant entities from all sectors, CPs was launched as one of the concrete actions to realize the “Strategy for a Growth-Oriented, Resource Autonomous Economy”.

CPs will set up a partnership organization consisting of the national government, local governments, universities, businesses, industry associations, and related institutions and organizations that are ambitious and pioneering in the circular economy and will discuss measures necessary to achieve the goal.

On Friday, December 22, 2023, CPs’ inaugural event and the first general meeting was held, and Chair Takashi Nakamura and others from CEA attended.

CEA is an organization with participation from a wide variety of industrial sectors and will work on the formation of partnerships (as value networks) and the necessary enablers (rule-making, etc.) for the achievement of circular economy implementation. While setting goals related to these activities, we will contribute to discussing enablers in this partnership.
